How to reach
By air
If you are travelling by air then the nearest airport to reach Science City Kolkata is the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. From the airport Science City is located at a distance of 16.2 km and you can easily reach there in about 30 minutes. You can take a cab or yellow taxis from the airport to reach Science City most conveniently.
By train
If you are travelling by train then the nearest railway station to reach Science City is the Sealdah railway Station. From the station Science City is located at a distance of 5.4 km. It would take about 20 minutes to reach there from the station. The Howrah Station is also another major railway station that is located at a distance of 14.7 km. From the Howrah Station it would take around 40 minutes to reach Science City. You can opt for buses to reach Science City from the stations. Or else you can also take a cab or hire a car to reach the location from there.
By road
You can opt for mini buses or regular buses from different parts of the city to reach Science City. Science City is easily accessible from most parts of the city in Kolkata. You will get buses from Salt Lake Sector V, Sheladah, Jadavpur, Esplanade etc to reach here. Even AC buses are also available from different locations to reach the Science City as well. Earth Exploration Hall
This hall is one of the major attractions in Science City Kolkata. In 2008, 6th December the then Union Minister for Culture of India, Ms. Ambika Soni inaugurated this semi circular two storied gallery. This hall has a diameter of 25 meters and houses an exhibition on Earth which is a permanent setup. On the ground floor there are details on the Southern Hemisphere while on the first floor you will find exhibits on the Northern Hemisphere. At the centre of the hall there is however a huge model of Earth and there are 12 sections in it. Each of these longitudinal segments represents various features like physical geography, geology, people, flora and fauna, land and more. Also there are video walls, multimedia presentations and computer kiosks as well. All these explain reasons behind phenomena like natural disasters, climate change, global ecology and more.
Space Odyssey
This is yet another interesting zone in Science City which is basically a hall with everything related to space. Science City Kolkata Space Theatre projects various shows and attracts a huge number of visitors as well. Also there are 3D Theatre, Mirror Magic, Time Machine, Space Science and other space related exhibits here. The Science City Kolkata Space Theatre has a Helios Star Ball Planetarium. There are a total of 150 special effect projector here. You can enjoy large format film projection here and the hall has the capacity to accommodate 360 viewers at a time.
Also there is a 3D Theatre here that projects three dimensional effects. Along with that there is a Time Machine which is a 30 seater motion simulator synchronized with audio visual presentation. This is indeed one of the interesting things to enjoy here. Then there is the Mirror Magic. It is like a mirror maze with 35 exhibits. You can enjoy real puzzling effects like floating in the air, head on a platter, curving tunnel and much more.
Dynamotion Hall
This is basically a large spiral building with a variety of exhibits on physical science. Here you will get to experience the science behind so many things that we encounter in our day to day lives. From creating music while walking on a piano floor, to moving a floating ball or making a dish float you will find a lot of interesting things here. Other attractions here are Biodiversity, Power of Ten, Illusions, Nano Lab, Aquarium and more.

In this area you will find a lot of exhibits and rides like Musical Fountain, Caterpillar Ride, Cable Cars, Monorail Cycle, Road Train and more.
